Who This Is For
Agriculture Is Excluded From Most Of This Category. Not Here.
Agricultural exclusions in lending products usually trace to how farm credit is regulated and underwritten — a separate system, with its own institutions, and a set of rules a general-purpose lender would rather not take on.
That reasoning applies to lending. It does not apply to reporting a tradeline, which is why we do not carry the exclusion.
The rule that excludes you elsewhere
Credit Strong's eligibility rules state the business cannot be agricultural-related.
Stated from their published eligibility criteria. It is a reasonable rule for a lending product; we are not one, which is why we do not carry it.
What To Know Before You Start
- Seasonal income is not a barrier to the account itself, but it is worth thinking about honestly: a missed payment is reported the same way an on-time one is. If your cash flow is seasonal, size the plan against your leanest month rather than your best.
- Farm Credit System institutions serve agricultural borrowers specifically and are worth knowing about for actual financing. We are not a lender and are not an alternative to one.
- The lowest rung exists for exactly this reason. One account paid reliably is worth more than a larger one paid unreliably.
